4 Good Reasons to Support Charities as a Small Business and Launching our Charity of the Year 2023.

Many business owners and entrepreneurs are torn between their desire to make a difference and getting their financial needs met. When I first started my business I wanted to ensure not only was I helping and supporting local businesses but also that I was giving back to my local community.

1. Charities and social causes need you

With the Financial Crisis hitting every aspect of our lives – they say Charity starts at home but what about the actual Charities that really need you? There are many large Charities that get a lot of funding but what about the Small Charities of this world – like us Small Businesses? Those are the Charities that really need our support at the moment otherwise they might not be around much longer.

2. Customers prefer businesses that care

We are seeing more and more that our clients are actively asking us what we do as part of our Corporate Social responsibility (CSR). Many organisations want to work with others that are aligned with their own values and that includes where their money goes.

3. You’ll attract, engage and retain staff with similar values

One of the criteria for your recruitment processes is seeing if employees have the same values as you. If you have vacancies ensure that you shout about CSR and how you support Charities and Social causes.

4. Giving to Charity makes you feel happy.

Giving does not mean you have to put your hand in your pocket it can mean you could volunteer or give your services for a reduced cost. However, if you decide to give to Charity it will have a positive effect on your mental well-being and your health.

So why are we so interested in Charities – well as you can see from my past endeavours I have stuck to what I said when I started my business and we have always done something to support local charities.

As a team, we wanted to do something a little bit different based on what is going on in the world and therefore we are launching today our ‘Charity of the Year’.

What does it mean to be our Charity of the Year?

We are going to donate our services to a Charity for 1 year starting on the 1st of January 2023. Employees of Charities are generally so passionate about what they do that they often go without the basics and we want to change that and see if we can help to grow the charity through their people.
