Coronavirus Support for Businesses

 Rishi Sunak today announced today there will be three new measures to help businesses during this troubling time for many businesses with this new wave of COVID-19.

 

Cash Grants for Hospitality

Eligible hospitality companies will be able to claim a cash grant worth up to £6000.   Further guidance will be announced on Wednesday 22nd December but those businesses that will qualify will be :

  • Drive-in restaurants
  • Food courts
  • Pubs
  • Pub restaurants
  • Restaurants
  • Roadside restaurants
  • Wine bars
  • Cafes/restaurants within a specialist property
  • Nightclubs
  • Hotels/B&Bs
  • Caravan sites and pitches
  • Chalet parks
  • Coaching inns
  • Country house hotels
  • Guest and boarding houses
  • Hostels
  • Hotels (3 star and under)
  • Hotels (4 star and above) & Chain Op. 3 star
  • Lodges
  • Bingo halls
  • Bowling alleys
  • Holiday homes
  • Casinos and gambling clubs
  • Cinemas
  • Clubhouses
  • Ice rinks
  • Museums
  • Art galleries
  • Roller skating rinks
  • Stately homes and historic houses
  • Theatres
  • Zoos and safari parks
  • Amusement parks
  • Arenas
  • Concert halls
  • Go Kart rinks

Grants will be paid per premise and the amount paid will depend on your firm’s rateable value:

  • Rateable value of £0 – £15,000 – £2,700 grant
  • Rateable value of £15,000 – £51,000 – £4,000 grant

  • Rateable value of £51,000+ – £6,000 grant

Top-ups for theatres and Museums

In addition – there will be a £30m top up to the successful cultural recovery fund to support institution’s like theatres and museum’s.

Sick Pay

Finally, the re introduction of the statutory sick pay rebate scheme so that SME’s can claim compensation from the government for the cost of sick pay for their employees.

This will be claimed as it was before via Payroll and RTI.
