Here Are My Five Top Tips For Using BreatheHR

I recommend that all of my clients use an HR system, and I especially recommend BreatheHR. For those using currently using this brilliant and easy-to-use UK-based HR system, I’d like to share these five sensational tips for using BreatheHR, which I hope you might find useful. So, without further ado, here are my top five sensational tips which will transform yourself, your staff and your business into the success they deserve to be.

1. Calculating Holiday For New Starters

The first of my tips for using BreatheHR comes into play soon after you have recruited a new team member and are adding their new employee information into BreatheHR. When adding their data, such as address, NI number, next of kin etc, please definitely ensure that they are added to the correct holiday allowance. The system will then pro-rata their holiday based on this calculation:

Full-year entitlement x number of days between the start of the holiday year and the employee’s start date

÷

The number of days in holiday year.

2. Bulk Changes In BreatheHR

Have you ever had to update several employees with a company training course? Or allocate a new line manager to a team?

Well, within BreatheHR on the employee’s list, HR users can make mass changes which will save you a lot of time and effort, freeing up time to concentrate on other important areas of your business. The areas you can update are:

  • Line Managers
  • Holiday Approvers
  • Statutory Holidays
  • Working Patterns
  • Holiday allowances
  • Training Records
  • Benefits and Pensions
  • Departments

3. Sending Emails From BreatheHR

Within the systems, you can send emails. These emails will be documented under the employee’s notes tab so that you have a record.

To send an email go to the Employees Tab> List > Select the relevant employee by using the tick box > Show task and click Send Mass email.

4. Total Reward Package

To demonstrate the value of your company’s full reward package, breatheHR have put together this personalised statement for each employee.

This shows their salary, bonus & commission, benefits and any other allowances that go together to make up their total reward package. I find this a really useful feature.

5. Recruitment

The last of my five tips for using BreatheHR is by no means the least. In the recruitment area, you can create vacancies, track applications, invite people to interview and hire successful candidates.

Within your Hub area you will be able to see:

  • Open vacancies
  • Who is managing a vacancy
  • Shortlist applicants
  • Check out how well your vacancy is performing under the Analytics section.

This function is available on the Recruitment Plus Plan.

If you like the sound of some of these functionalities but aren’t yet using a system, Book a free demo and I can introduce you to the benefits and offer even more tips for using BreatheHR.
